Have you read the book of Revelation lately? What a wonderful and mysterious book!  Before it is a prophecy of the end of the world, it is first a revelation of Jesus Christ.  I counted 28 characteristics about Jesus in chapter one.  I'll give you the first 19 and encourage you to read the chapter to find the other 9.

1) He is, He was, and is to come.
2) He is the faithful witness
3) First begotten of the dead
4) Prince of the kings of the earth.
5) Loved us
6) Washed us from our sins in his own blood
7) He cometh with clouds
8) Every eye shall see him
9) All the kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him
10) Alpha and Omega
11) The beginning
12) The ending
13) The Almighty
14) The first and last
15) Son of man
16) Clothed with a garment down to the foot and girt about with a golden girdle
17) His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow
18) His eyes were a flame of fire
19) His feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace

I counted 9 more characteristics in chapter one alone.  Chapter 2 and 3 are even more revealing.

Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophesy, and keep those things which are written therein for the time is at hand. Revelation 1:3

  1. The book of Revelation is essential! Unfortunately, in our day of marginalized churches..with pastors/preachers who do not teach the Word, it is largely missed.

Revelation is the only book of the Bible that promises a blessing for those who read it! I find it full of promise for those who love Him!

Thanks for the great post! I did a series years ago called, Why bother with Revelation?

  2. What a fantastic post! Such a blessing. And speaking of blessings, the Christian is promised a blessing just for reading it. All the more reason to read it I think. (o:
