We have read and loved this book for a long time...since my oldest was a baby. It seems to be more relevant to us lately - what the Santos Times has been struggling through. It seems we've been passing out a lot of grey dots - so much so it is becoming a bad habit. Now we are trying to keep track of this by calling it what it is.

Every time one of the kids or I say a negative thing about someone or something, we call out "Grey Dot!" and we become aware of how we are using our words.

For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: ~ 1Peter 3:10

Charity...beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. ~ 1 Corinthians 13:7

Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins. ~ Proverbs 10:12

And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. ~ 1Peter 4:8

He that would live in peace and at ease must not speak all he knows or all he sees.
~Benjamin Franklin

  1. Our Pastor talks a lot about not allowing negativity in his home. It's a hard habit to break but a worthy one to try and get rid of. Good for you!

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.

    Blessings,
    Michele

  2. Mrs. Santos,

This is an area that I struggle with - negativity. I'm naturally a pessimistic person, so this makes this sin even harder for me to break. I'm glad that your family is working on ways to be more kind and gentle with one another. We need to take that challenge over here our home!

BTW, what is the book about (the one that you have posted on this blog)?

  3. Mrs. Lady Sofia:

It is a cute book about how wemmick give each other stickers -grey dots for bad stuff and stars for good stuff and what their maker thinks of the sticker thing. Very good-you can find a read through of it on youtube - though I don't have the link.

    Happy day to you.
