Nobody is perfect - Not even those perfect people over there

Do you ever get discouraged with your life when you see "Them" and what "they" are doing? I know I do. There are so many creative people and funny people and Godly people that have so much to offer. Sometimes I feel like such a lump of mud compared to them - but that would be wrong. We are not to compare ourselves to our neighbors...but to "look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith."

Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. James 5:17

1 Corinthians 12:17-26 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. And if they were all one member, where were the body? But now are they many members, yet but one body. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked: That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

Here is an excerpt of a great article by the sweet Mrs. MacDonald:

Instead of wishing you could have a “really godly family” like that
spit-and-polished family at church, consider the great gift of your own family
and pray together that God would use you to serve one another, and others, to
the glory of God. Each family has its own flavor or scent, spiritually speaking;
and your family is no exception.

  1. Mrs. Santos,

    Amen and amen again regarding your post! You are so correct in stating that everyone is NOT perfect. I have the same problem: getting "caught up" in what other wives are doing; thinking it is "better" or "more creative" than what I am doing. I always have to remind myself that it's not about comparisons, but what God wills and desires for my life, which will obviously be different from someone else's life.

  2. Hello - always thankful for a visit from you Mrs. Lady Sofia. Hope you are well!
